HEG Community Café

The HEG Community Café opens its doors every Monday at Mill Lane Pavilion, offering a hot meal, a hot drink and a friendly face to anyone who walks in. It started as a way to bring people together over food, and it's grown into one of the busiest mornings in the village calendar.

Meals are cooked from scratch using donated and surplus ingredients wherever possible, keeping costs low and waste down. Whether you're after a proper breakfast, a chat, or just somewhere warm to sit for an hour, the café is open to everyone — families, older neighbours, and anyone passing through.

The café runs entirely on volunteer time: cooks, servers, washer-uppers and people on the door making sure every visitor feels welcome. New volunteers are always needed, and no experience is required.
