Space for Wildlife brings together volunteers to create and care for habitats that give local wildlife room to thrive — from native hedgerows and wildflower borders to log piles, ponds and bird and bat boxes.
Sessions take place at various sites across the Hendreds, often in partnership with landowners, the parish council and other local groups. Past projects have included planting native hedging, establishing wildflower meadows, and building habitat features for hedgehogs, birds and pollinators.
The project is for anyone who cares about nature on their doorstep, whatever their level of experience — from seasoned conservationists to families wanting to get outdoors and do something practical for wildlife.
Join a session and help plant, build or maintain habitats for local wildlife.
