HEG Grows

HEG Grows is a community-run growing plot at the Old Lane Bowling Alley Allotments, tended by volunteers of all ages and experience levels. From raised beds to fruit bushes, the plot produces fresh seasonal vegetables and fruit throughout the year.

Much of what's grown goes straight to the Community Café and Community Larder, helping keep both running with fresh, local produce. The rest is shared among volunteers — there's always something to harvest, weed, water or plant, whatever the season.

No gardening experience is needed to get involved. Saturday sessions are relaxed and sociable, and it's a great way to learn about growing food while spending time outdoors with neighbours.
